Ingredients

  • For the sub:
  • hoagie rolls
  • tablespoons Vital Farms salted butter (room temperature)
  • ounce pack of salami
  • ounce pack of ham
  • ounce pack of provolone cheese
  • cups shredded lettuce of choice
  • medium tomato (sliced)
  • ⅓ medium red onion (sliced)
  • ⅓ cup sliced banana peppers (drained)
  • For the dressing:
  • tablespoons mayonnaise
  • tablespoons olive oil
  • tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Combine and chop: Place salami, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and banana peppers on a large cutting board and chop to desired size. Add to a large mixing bowl, and set aside.

  2. Make dressing & Mix: Add mayo, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Drizzle over the chopped ingredients, and toss until evenly coated.

  3. Toast and butter hoagie rolls: Slice hoagie rolls in half lengthwise, toast until golden brown, and spread each half with butter while warm.

  4. Serve: Divide the chopped filling mixture between the hoagie rolls, and enjoy.
