Chopped Italian Sandwich
This bold and flavorful Chopped Italian Sandwich is a crowd-pleasing twist on a deli classic. Packed with savory deli meats, crisp veggies, zesty seasonings, and tossed with your favorite dressing, it’s all chopped together for the perfect bite every time.
Ingredients
- For the sub:
- hoagie rolls
- tablespoons Vital Farms salted butter (room temperature)
- ounce pack of salami
- ounce pack of ham
- ounce pack of provolone cheese
- cups shredded lettuce of choice
- medium tomato (sliced)
- ⅓ medium red onion (sliced)
- ⅓ cup sliced banana peppers (drained)
- For the dressing:
- tablespoons mayonnaise
- tablespoons olive oil
- tablespoons red wine vinegar
- teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
Combine and chop: Place salami, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and banana peppers on a large cutting board and chop to desired size. Add to a large mixing bowl, and set aside.
Make dressing & Mix: Add mayo, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Drizzle over the chopped ingredients, and toss until evenly coated.
Toast and butter hoagie rolls: Slice hoagie rolls in half lengthwise, toast until golden brown, and spread each half with butter while warm.
Serve: Divide the chopped filling mixture between the hoagie rolls, and enjoy.
